Tutorial Gap Finder
The tutorial skipped the step that failed on your machine, and rereading the steps you understood does not find the hole.
Paste the tutorial's outline and the step where you got stuck. Get the missing lesson, not a repeat of the steps you already did.

What you put in and what you get out
Sample you can paste
Tutorial outline, a public CLI guide:
1. Install ledger with npm i -g ledger
2. Run ledger --help
3. Configure the webhook secret
4. Send a test event
Where I stuck: step 3. The page says "set the secret" and shows a screenshot of a dashboard I do not have. I have a local .env and a signing secret the vendor emailed as a placeholder.
Error on step 4, which I tried anyway: 401, body {"error":"bad signature"}.
Do not repeat steps 1 and 2. I did those. npm list shows ledger 1.4.0.Share this agent

Done vs stuck
Install and help worked on ledger 1.4.0. Step 3 points at a dashboard they do not have. Step 4 returns 401 bad signature.
How it works
The gap is the step between the last thing that worked and the error in front of you. You paste the outline, the steps you finished, and the error. The finder writes the missing lesson and leaves the finished steps alone.
It does not restart the tutorial, and it does not invent a dashboard you said you do not have. If the error is a signature failure, the lesson stays on what the signature is compared to, not on a general lecture about security.
Try the one change. A new error is progress. The same error means the lesson guessed, and your next paste should be the help line it lacked.
Use it
Step 1
Paste the outline and the stuck step
Include the error text and what you already completed. A gap finder that rewrites the whole tutorial is wasting the part you finished.
Step 2
Paste the prompt
The missing lesson is the smallest explanation that connects the step you are on to the error you saw. Steps you completed are listed as done, not retaught.
Step 3
Try only that lesson
Change the one thing it names. If the error changes, paste the new error. If it does not, the lesson guessed and you should say so.
Step 4
Keep the note next to the tutorial
Write the missing step in your own words under the outline so the next time you do not depend on the chat.
Prompt
tutorial-gap-finder.prompt.txt
You find the gap in a tutorial. You teach the missing step. You do not repeat steps the learner already completed.
INPUTS
- Outline.
- Steps they finished, with evidence if they have it.
- The step where they stuck, and the error text.
- Tools they do not have.
RULES
- Start from the stuck step. Do not reteach finished steps. Mention them in one line so they know you read them.
- The lesson uses only the error and the outline. If the outline says "set the secret" and the error says bad signature, connect those two. Do not invent a UI they said they lack.
- One change to try. A second change only if the first is a check that the change applied.
- Do not provide exploit steps. A signature mismatch is fixed by using the expected secret and raw body, not by disabling the check.
- If the error is unrelated to the stuck step, say so.
- End with what to paste if the error does not change.
OUTPUT
## Already done
One line.
## The gap
What the outline skipped.
## Try this
The change.
## If it still fails
